Getting To Know More About...Yvonne Ulett

In this episode of Lucas Media’s video podcast series called Getting To Know More About...Marc Lucas speaks to Yvonne Ulett who helps people that are new into the crypto industry.

Yvonne is keen to educate people and make sure they stay safe in the crypto space.

For all the people who don't know you out there can you tell us a little bit about yourself and a little bit about what you do?

My name is Yvonne Ulett and my company is called Simply Bit I educate people in the crypto industry I also invest in the alternative investments space. I'm an ex accountant, an accountant for over 20 years, I sold my business a couple of years ago and since then all I've done is do things within the crypto world.

Why did you set it up Simply Bit and what kind of people are you trying to help with the business?

I originally set it up because when I first came into the industry I found it really difficult and there was no one around to help me. I made a lot of mistakes and lost a lot of money due to being scammed. There was nobody out there to help and guide me so I decided that I wanted to set something up to help people who who hadn't done anything like this before but wanted to give it a go. So my aim now is to educate people teach them how to to stay safe in this industry and how to do things in the right way.

When do you think crypto is going to go mainstream?

I think it depends on the country some countries will take it on board far quicker than others. I think in the next two to ten years it will be mainstream all over the world. I've been in the industry for about two and a half years now and I'm seeing huge changes. People are asking questions now about it far more than they were even a year ago.

Getting a little bit more in depth into the crypto space lots of coins and projects did very well last year, like Solana, Matic and Elrond what are your predictions for big coins for 2022?

Three coins I would earmark for this year are Shiba I think that's going to go really, really mainstream because it's going to start to be used for payments. I think Cardano (Ada) will do well they're doing some huge, huge things at the moment in the background I think their price will increase massively. That's always one of my favourite coins. And then as an outsider one that I've just bought into called Gari I do think that that one's going to be one to really watch as well.

What advice would you give anybody who wants to get into the crypto space for the first time?

I would always advise to get help from somebody because it's not a normal way of moving money around it's very, very different to our traditional banking system. Find somebody who's already experienced so that they can set up a decent digital wallet for you. I always suggest to have a couple of digital wallets rather than just one, just because if one goes down you are covered. Diversify and de-risk both really important things that people need to do and if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is. So don't do it.
