Lucas Media helping the Hovis logistics network with video

We have been working with Hovis for a number of years creating video content to help them communicate with their workforce. Recently we have partnered with the logistics department on a number of projects. The logistics team have a constant challenge making sure they stay safe as they travel the length and breadth of the country. Their vehicles are fitting with the most up to date tech however there is still the human element at play whilst driving on the roads and motorways of the UK.

We have advised our clients for many years that the easiest way to reach a large number of people in the most efficient way was through an internal company wide video campaign. The videos would be distributed and viewed through internal systems and played to existing team members and also new starters as they join the company. This has been working very successfully for Hovis during our time working with the company.

Our most recent awareness video focused on rollaway events and how to avoid them. Spearheading the campaign was Adam Bassant who is the logistics director for Hovis. Adam has a real understanding of how to communicate to his workforce and was the face of the video campaign. He was filmed at the Bradford Hovis site and delivered a clear and concise message to camera that was the backbone to the video.

The full video contained some of the processes and procedures that drivers must always take in to consideration and action every time they enter and exit their vehicles. We filmed a number of different scenarios and vehicles at the Bradford Hovis bakery which included Tractor Units and Rigid trucks. The main takeaway throughout the message was to make sure you stay in control of your vehicle and your actions.

Whilst on site we also filmed a short testimonial video with Adam which featured the results and impact a previous speed awareness video campaign had on the logistics department and their drivers. He told us that since producing the video, which has been viewed by all the Hovis drivers, the video has had a really positive impact and has helped to reduce their speed on the road by 96%.

When we heard those figures we were over the moon that the content we had produced for Hovis has made a real difference to peoples lives. It has sparked the drivers to think about their speed on the road and also made the roads a little bit safer at the same time.

You can see Adam talk about the reduction in speeding here on our LinkedIn profile.
