Lucas Media visiting Asco Group in Scotland
We recently made the trip to the east coast of Scotland to film in Aberdeen and Peterhead.
We were visiting Asco Group for a two day shoot which consisted of filming the CEO Mike Pettigrew at the Dyce head office and then making the trip on the second day to their Peterhead location filming huge vessels that are used to service the north sea oil rigs.
The oil and gas industry still dominates this part of Scotland and continues to make a massive contribution to the local economy. Asco Group are one of the key enablers in the whole supply chain and continue to build a strong and sustainable logistics management company.

On day one we arrived at head office and was greeted with a friendly and helpful team welcome. We had to capture Mike on camera talking about the company and giving the viewers a deeper understanding into how Asco Group helped to service their existing customers. Asco Group is a worldwide company so Mike also gave us an overview of the locations where they are based and who they partner with in those countries.
We then took to the sky to film some exterior shots with the drone. One caveat was that the Asco Group head office was right next to Aberdeen airport so we had to check with their control tower before taking off. We always use licensed and insured pilots who are well versed with communicating with all the relevant authorities before we fly.
Day two was an early start as we travelled up to Peterhead to the world's busiest private offshore support facility. This supply base handles deck cargo, fuel and water and helps over 2000 vessels a year. We got to film the vessels coming into port with the drone and tracked their route right until they were successfully docked. We also captured the team in many of the locations around the site and even was granted permission to sit in with one of the crane operators as he transferred big metal containers off and on one of the vessels which had just arrived.

It was an amazing experience to not only meet a great team of people it was also a deep dive into the oil and gas industry. The size and scale of the operations was mind blowing and we look forward to helping Asco Group and the team in the future.
